PROVIA Fellowships
START is partnering with the Global Programme of Research on Climate Change Vulnerability, Impacts and Adaptation (PROVIA) on designing and implementing a pilot fellowship program for young professionals and researchers involved in climate change adaptation. Five fellows from Africa and Asia will be selected in early 2016 to participate in the seven-month fellowship program, which includes a one-month stay at a host institution in Africa or Asia. Fellows will conduct solution-oriented research related to community-based adaptation, agricultural adaptation policy, adaptation governance in semi-arid regions, climate change scenario modeling, and water quality and infrastructure. Fellows will receive small grants to produce either a research-based output, such as a journal article, or a communications output targeted at policy-makers or for use by practitioners.
